Program details
Everything about how Chao Mami Express Rewards works — the whole deal, in plain language.
Earning points
Every $1 you spend earns 5 points — automatically, whenever you pay by card (tap, insert, Apple Pay, Google Pay) at Chao Mami Express or on an online order at chaomamiexpress.com/order. No app, no scanning, nothing to show at the till.
- Your account is your phone number — sign in anytime at rewards.chaomamiexpress.com with a one-time text code. No passwords.
- Link a card once (last 4 digits + the amount from a recent receipt) and every tap on it counts automatically — including every visit since the day you joined, even if you link later.
- Up to 2 visit-credits per day, at least 4 hours apart. Tips aren't included in points math.
- Paying cash? You can still join and redeem — ask us about linking on your next card payment, or we can help at the counter.
Rewards
- 375 points — Free Bao, Free Roll, or Free Mini Phở
- 500 points — Free Specialty Drink
- 750 points — Noodle Salad
- 1,000 points — Free Regular Phở
New members get 200 points just for joining, and +150 the first time they link a card.
Redeeming
- Tap Redeem in your account — your phone shows a green ticket with a 10-minute countdown. Show it at the till and we take it from there. Online, ready rewards can be added right at checkout.
- Change your mind? Cancel the ticket any time before it's used and your points come straight back. Unused tickets return their points automatically.
- Free items online need at least one paid item in the order.
- Up to 2 redemptions per account per day. Rewards can't be redeemed during Happy Hour (2–6 pm daily).
Do points expire?
Visit once a year and your points never expire. A balance only expires after 365 days with no visits — and we'll text you a reminder a month before that could ever happen.
Your privacy
We never see or store your card number. Cards are recognized by an anonymous identifier provided by Square, our payment processor — plus the brand and last 4 digits so you can tell your cards apart. Full card numbers never reach us, and we couldn't store them if we wanted to.
What we keep, and why. Your phone number (it's your account), your first name and birthday if you choose to share them (so we can say hi properly and send a birthday treat), which of your cards are linked (brand + last 4 + that anonymous identifier), and your visit and purchase totals at Chao Mami Express (that's how points are counted). That's the whole list — we don't collect anything else, and we never sell or share your information for advertising.
Who touches the data. The program runs on three services, each handling only its part: Square (payments), Cloudflare (secure hosting), and Telnyx (text messages). No other third parties are involved.
Texts. Account texts (sign-in codes, reward unlocks) are part of membership. Marketing texts — birthday offers, come-back-soon notes — are a separate opt-in you control in your profile. Reply STOP to any text and all texting ends immediately.
Your choices, any time. Ask us at the counter or through the site and we'll show you what's on your account, fix anything that's wrong, unlink a card, or delete your account and its history entirely — points included, so tell us if you'd rather redeem first. We keep your information only while your account exists.
The fine print
- One account per person, per phone number. Up to 4 linked cards per account.
- Points have no cash value and can't be transferred between accounts.
- Rewards menu and point values may change; your earned balance is always honoured at the current menu.
- We may pause accounts showing signs of misuse while we sort things out.
